This is my first actual site I made using Emacs, running on Slackware 15.0. (Later edits done on different distros, current ones done on Arch Linux)
Before this site, I experimented with all sorts of layouts, inspirations (even a literal knock-off) and ideas.
I've decided to settle on a simple text-only affair, with only one image used everywhere (next to no images used elsewhere) and very little CSS work needed as a result.
A big source of inspiration was luchiz's hideout, which is similarly simplistic as well.
Simple. I don't want to be associated with people who treat their sites as glorified social media link pages
or recite a variation of the same old song and dance about how the modern internet is a corporate dystopia and
that Neocities/Nekoweb is the best thing to happen since sliced bread in their "blog".
The latter (Nekoweb) also uses Discord as their sole contact method, thus expecting you to give up your privacy just to leave feedback.
What did you expect from the "indieweb" and their overreliance on Electron-powered spyware webslop like Discord
instead of using something more decentralized like XMPP. In the words of a certain maroon whale: make sites, not accounts.
